Take your architecture sketching skills to the next level.

You’ve learned the basics and enjoy sketching, but still hesitate when faced with complex scenes or unfamiliar locations. This course is designed to help you push through that moment of doubt — to sketch what truly inspires you, not just what feels easy.

This 5-week course is designed for those who already have a foundation in architectural sketching and want to keep building on it. You’ll work with more challenging references, dynamic urban scenes, and expressive compositions. Along the way, you’ll expand your visual language, develop the ability to capture mood and atmosphere, and strengthen your sense of structure, depth, and composition.

The course features new references each time, making it a valuable option for those who want to return and keep building their skills through steady practice.

All necessary materials are provided by the studio.

What You’ll Learn:

• Advanced Perspective (Simplified!): Explore three-point perspective and how to sketch complex architectural forms, like towers, arches, and columns, easily and convincingly.

• Enriching the Scene: Bring your cityscapes to life by adding simple, expressive figures, vehicles, and greenery.

• Basics of Color Theory: Learn the essentials of color theory to enhance the visual impact and atmosphere of your sketches.

• Composition & Focus: Discover compositional techniques that guide the viewer’s eye and create stronger, more intentional sketches.

Recommended Experience:

This course is best suited for students who already feel comfortable with:

• Using one-point and two-point perspective in sketches

• Understanding light, dark, and midtone values

• Basic watercolor techniques like:

  • Painting smooth flat washes

  • Creating tonal gradients

  • Knowing when to work wet-on-wet or wet-on-dry
